LA COLLECTION 1808

For many, the first olfactive ritual of the day has always begun with Plisson, where the historic cedar and sandalwood scent of the shaving soap, followed by the soothing notes of aftershave balm, leaves a lasting trace on the skin.

The first Plisson range of fragrances, named Collection 1808 to honour the year in which the Maison was officially created, continues this intimate dialogue with scent, deepening a tradition where fragrance, gesture, and precision come together in a ritual as cherished now as it was in the earliest days of the Maison.

Inspired by the enduring presence of a man whose strength, charisma, and inner fire still resonate today, Plisson’s first collection of niche fragrances evokes six different facets of Napoléon’s journey, both his outward voyages and his inner path.

As one of the Maison’s earliest and most loyal clients, he naturally embodies the bond that has long connected Plisson to those who value timeless rituals and the discreet luxury of precision.

Each of these six fragrances has been designed in Paris with an uncompromising quest for excellence, working with master perfumers of international renown who were given carte blanche to interpret Napoléon’s journey.

Guided by their creative instinct, the master perfumers turned naturally to noble raw materials, in coherence with Plisson’s commitment to excellence, know-how, and the beauty of perfectly-crafted objects.

Each composition is clear, distinctive, and inspiring,  assembled with precision to offer fragrances like no others.

Though initially imagined with a masculine figure in mind, their elegance, depth, and finely balanced construction will be loved universally, likely resonating with anyone drawn to subtle contrasts and perfectly-crafted scents—a natural reflection of both Napoléon and Joséphine: avant-garde, self-assured, and unafraid to embody codes long associated with the opposite side of themselves.

The BOTTLE

At Plisson, the hand has always guided the form. For the past 200 years, master artisans of the Maison have practised the delicate art of guilloché, engraving fine, rhythmic patterns onto material through gestures perfected by years.

This rare savoir-faire, still carried out today on handles of shaving brushes and razors in the Maison’s atelier, speaks of patience, precision, and the quiet excellence of tools and it is this enduring heritage that inspires the design of Plisson’s first fragrance collection, a contemporary interpretation of the codes that define the brand.

The glass bottle, square and weighty, stands with assurance, anchored, timeless, yet its surface tells a story of lightness and precision: a compact feather motif, engraved into the glass and echoed on the satin-finish golden metal cap, brings a softness to its lines, a sense of movement held within structure, directly inspired by Plisson’s guilloché savoir-faire.

On the embossed carton, another feather-like motif reveals itself.  This dual reading -strength and lightness, power and nuance - echoes the spirit of the eagle, the emblem of the Maison, superbly present atop the heavy cap and on the packaging.

A symbol drawn from imperial history and legacy, and between its powerful wings, the feather appears not as ornament, but as trace—of gesture, of tradition, of style. Each detail of the fragrance design extends a lineage of craftsmanship into the present, contemporary, relevant, and innovative, where heritage is not only preserved, but also reimagined.
