Tips for use
It is preferable to shave in the morning, just after showering and before breakfast: the hair, which is essentially made up of Keratin, will be more supple and easier to cut, and the skin of your face less fragile. Prepare your shaving foam by loading the shaving brush with soap or shaving cream. The use of products known as "Preparation for shaving" has a double objective: it increases the hydration of the hair by ridding it of its greasy layer (sebum) and protects the skin from the aggression of the blade.
1/ With beard soap: Quickly run your shaving brush under warm water and emulsify the soap inside the bowl (without crushing the hairs) until you obtain a thick, creamy lather. Then apply the foam to your wet face, using circular motions for one or two minutes to soften and straighten your beard hair.
2/ With the shaving cream: Once your face is prepared and the shaving brush is moistened with warm water, place a dab of cream on the top of the brush or directly on your cheeks, and soap the face for one to two minutes, as described above.
Shave in the direction of the hair, limiting the number of passes of the blade to avoid irritation. If you wish to make a second pass, rewash your face and shave, this time in the opposite direction of the hair.
Rinse your face with cool water and apply an aftershave balm to soothe and rehydrate the skin. The day can begin!
Maintenance
To keep your beard brush looking good for years to come, be sure to rinse it thoroughly after each use to remove any traces of cream or soap. Drain and lightly rub the bristles against a towel before storing the brush upside down on a suitable stand.
Check the sharpness of your razor blade regularly and replace it if it is worn. After shaving, clean the razor with hot water to remove hair and other residues (shaving cream, soap, etc.) and thus avoid the proliferation of bacteria on the blades. When perfectly cleaned, it will retain its sharpness and effectiveness for longer, giving you real pleasure while shaving.
