It is best to shave in the morning, just after a shower and before breakfast: hair, composed mainly of keratin, will be softer and easier to cut, and your facial skin less fragile. Prepare your shaving foam by loading the brush with soap or shaving cream. Using so-called “pre-shaving products” serves a dual purpose: it enhances hair hydration by removing its greasy layer (sebum) and, at the same time, protects the skin from the aggressiveness of the blade.

With shaving soap: With your face previously moistened (ideally after the shower), quickly run the brush under warm water and lather the soap inside the bowl (without crushing the hairs) until obtaining a thick and creamy foam. Apply it to the face in circular motions for one or two minutes, enough time to soften and straighten the beard hairs.

With shaving cream: Once your face is prepared and the brush moistened with warm water, place a small amount of cream on the top of the brush and lather directly on the face for one to two minutes as described above. Some users prefer to apply a small amount of cream directly from the tube onto each cheek, then emulsify it with the brush.

Apply the lather to your wet face in circular motions to properly lift the hair. Shave in the direction of hair growth, limiting the number of blade passes to avoid irritation. If you wish to make a second pass, re-lather and shave this time against the direction of hair growth. Rinse your face with cool water and apply an aftershave balm to soothe and rehydrate the skin.
