It is preferable to shave in the morning, right after showering and before breakfast: hair, mainly composed of keratin, will be softer and easier to cut, while your facial skin will be less sensitive.
Prepare your shaving lather by loading your shaving brush with soap or shaving cream. Using pre-shave products serves a dual purpose: it enhances hair hydration by removing its oily layer (sebum), and protects the skin from the aggressiveness of the blade.

Apply the lather to your wet face using circular motions to properly lift the hairs. Shave in the direction of hair growth, limiting the number of passes with the blade to avoid irritation. If a second pass is needed, reapply the lather and shave this time in the opposite direction of hair growth. Rinse your face with cool water and apply an aftershave balm to soothe and rehydrate the skin. Now you’re ready to start your day!

Check the sharpness of the blade regularly and replace it when it becomes worn. After shaving, rinse the razor with hot water to remove hair and product residue (shaving cream, soap, etc.) and prevent bacterial buildup on the blades. A properly cleaned blade will retain its edge and effectiveness longer, ensuring a pleasurable shaving experience.
